Our History

1940s: The first steps

The company is founded in 1946 by Mr Maurice Bourgeois. Heating appliances are the first items it manufactured.

1950s: The affirmation of a vocation

Bourgeois manufactures its first home kitchen appliances and in particular gas and electric cookers.

1960s: The pioneering spirit

Bourgeois extends its household electrical appliances range and in particular manufactures the first built-in oven. Bourgeois takes over the FAR Group.

1970s: Recognition and brand awareness

Bourgeois launches a "Large Kitchen" line, achieves positioning on the professional equipment market and manufactures the first "Convex" ovens.

1980s: Crisis and rebirth

Bourgeois is dragged into the filing of bankruptcy for the FAR Group. The company is then taken over by the employees as a co-operative. It refocuses itself on the professional market and releases the first mixed ovens.

1990s: Diversification and development

Bourgeois extends its line of business to manufacturing reheating ovens and meal distribution systems. Bourgeois also positions itself in the dishwashing sector with a granular pot washer and a washing tunnel for trolleys. It designs the "Vision" or "Pass Through" oven, which is the first oven to have 2 doors facing each other. Release of the "Universal Cooking" range of mixed ovens.

2000s: Change and renewal

In 2006, with the arrival of a new management team, and a strengthened Design Department, Bourgeois undertakes the complete renewal of its products range as part of a modern eco-design approach. Development of a new reheating oven; the TS3. Presentation of the new generation of "Zénith" mixed ovens at the Equip'Hotel international trade fair.
